Tips for audio that mixes Hindi, Telugu, or other Indic languages with English.

Using auto-detection

For audio that mixes Hindi and English (or other Indic + English), use language_code="auto" — the model handles code-switching natively.

Avoid specifying a single language code for genuinely mixed audio — it may reduce accuracy on the non-dominant language.

Output behavior

  • The detected_language field reflects the dominant language in the audio.
  • Output will reflect the dominant language in detected_language.
